Chocolate Protein Bliss Balls

These are a super delicious, healthy snack perfect for when you are on the go and need a little pick me up. Post-workout, pre-workout, 3:30itis, or any time you need to satiate a chocolate craving!

A friend and I planned on hiking Eagle View Trail (a 15km hike through John Forrest National Park) this weekend and I thought these would absolutely hit the spot whilst providing us with a bounty of superfood goodness, a bit of protein and some natural sugars for an energy boost. Plus they would give us something to look forward to every 5km or so!

It was a really enjoyable morning in the sunshine with good company and a fairly decent workout to boot!

Makes 10-12 balls

Ingredients:
6 Medjool Dates (pitted)
1 tbsp LSA mix
1 heaped tsp Mesquite Powder
1 heaped tsp Maca Powder
t tbsp Cacao Powder
1 tsp Chia Seeds
1 tbsp Protein Powder (vanilla, natural or chocolate would work best)
2 tbsp dessicated Coconut
3 tbsp Coconut Oil
2 tbsp raw, organic Honey
50g whole Almonds

Method:
Place all ingredients into a food processor (don’t forget to take the pits out of the dates!). Blend until well combined but the almonds are still a little chunky.

Roll mixture into small balls using wet hands to stop the mixture from sticking and making it all a really painful process!

Refrigerate before eating, if possible… I understand if not.
