No. 4 Blake Street
(Strangely enough located at…)
4 Blake Street
has been on my hit list for a while now, so when we were looking for a nice High Tea to celebrate a birthday for a pommy mate of mine, this seemed like the obvious answer!
The birthday girl thought we were taking her to the back of beyond as this truly is located in suburbia! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but when you walk it’s a smart looking place! Our table was beautifully presented and the menu mouthwatering!
In my mind, No 4 is the closest thing to Heston Blumenthal-esque food we have in Perth (please feel free to comment if you have another recommendation)! Every plate was immaculate and stunningly plated!
The beetroot and asparagus salad was an array of colour with the beetroot done in a couple of ways – think beetroot honeycomb – I don’t know how else to describe it!
The smoked duck salad was probably my favourite, it was incredibly tender and full of flavour!
My eyes must have lit up when the dessert plates arrived – finally got to try some chocolate dirt! Each little morsel was just punch after punch of flavour – particularly the passionfruit chocolate and blackberry jube! Wow.
Service wasn’t too bad, my one complaint was the chairs are way too close together – we had to get up and push our chairs in so the people behind us could get into their seats and then suck it in to let us back in!
I’d love to try dinner here one day – so No. 4 Blake Street won’t be taken off the hit list just yet! Lovely afternoon with delectable food and delightful company!
