Cereal Topper

This is hardly a recipe but it kind of follows on from my Breakfast Ideas post a few months back. I always refer to it on Instagram so I thought I had better blog the combination! I use this on pretty much anything! You can use it to crust meat, on salads, on cereal, in yoghurt for a little crunch in the afternoon. It is incredibly versatile and well worth keeping a jar in the pantry! It is also so much cheaper than buying commercial versions.

Ingredients:
50g Hazelnuts 
50g Peanuts
50g Almonds
50g Sunflower and Pepita Seed Mix or 25g of each
20g Chia Seeds
50g Loving Earth Buckini’s or plain buckwheat
50g Shredded Coconut
40g Flaxseeds
40g Sesame Seeds

Method:
Set the oven to 180C and roast all the nuts until slightly golden brown. Add the coconut at the last minute and toast until it turns light brown. Remove Hazelnut husks by rubbing them together in a dry tea towel. Let cool.

Roughly chop or blend all the nuts and seeds. Add the remaining ingredients. Store in an airtight container or jar. 

Feel free to adjust this recipe to use your favourite nuts, cacao nibs would be a great addition, also Activeats Rawnola will be added in my next round!
